A genuine commitment to mindfulness has extended into a setting nobody else considered particularly suitable
A Genuine Commitment Extended Into an Unexpected Setting
A Fifth Former’s genuine, consistent habit of settling into a proper meditative position while waiting for the school minibus, regardless of how many fellow pupils happen to be queuing around him, has become what one housemate calls “genuinely one of the more committed uses of otherwise dead time I’ve witnessed, purely because he does it with complete seriousness every single time.” The boy, entirely sincere about his practice, insists that “genuinely, waiting time is just time, I don’t see why I shouldn’t actually use it properly rather than just standing there scrolling on my phone.”
A Practice Maintained With Genuinely Consistent, Total Commitment
Several fellow passengers report the boy’s brief meditation session unfolding regardless of the wait’s actual length, one recalling “a fairly involved session that genuinely continued right up until the minibus actually arrived, at which point he’d calmly stand up and board as though nothing unusual had happened.” Despite the evident mismatch between the setting and the practice, the boy maintains his routine with unwavering consistency.
A Habit Fellow Pupils Have Come to Find Genuinely Entertaining
Rather than find the practice genuinely disruptive, several fellow passengers admit they’ve come to enjoy watching for it, one confessing he “genuinely times his own arrival partly hoping to catch part of the session in action.” The boy has taken this attention with good humour, insisting his brief practice has “genuinely improved how calm I feel heading into a busy school day.”
A Reputation Now Firmly, Fondly Established
Eton College Insight understands the boy’s minibus meditation has become something of a house institution, several newer pupils warned about the practice within their first few days of using the service.
A Genuinely Entertaining, Mildly Unconventional Personal Habit
Whatever future waits he encounters, several fellow pupils say the habit has become a genuinely fond feature of the daily routine, one summing up the sentiment simply as “he’s never actually going to stop, and honestly, watching him find his calm before a busy day has become oddly reassuring.” Several fellow passengers have jokingly suggested a formal schedule be posted, purely so latecomers know exactly how much time remains before the session concludes. The boy has welcomed this suggestion with genuine, cheerful amusement, insisting his practice “genuinely doesn’t need an audience to actually work properly.” Several fellow passengers say they’ve quietly come to find the whole daily ritual rather calming themselves. A few have even begun standing a little closer, purely to absorb some of the calm.
